Women in Management - Face to Face
A one day public, face-to-face, Women in Management programme
Description
This programme is designed for women in, or aspiring to, management positions. They are interested in progressing further in a way that is authentic and fits with who they are.
The course is tailored to the needs of the delegates on the day. As your starter for ten, we’ve put together a one day programme that addresses the sorts of issues women commonly face including:
Lacking confidence in their management abilities
Setting very high standards for their own performance
Expecting recognition for their management skills, rather than selling themselves
A reluctance to put themselves forward for management positions
Attributing success to ‘the team’ rather than themselves
Being appropriately assertive
Establishing authority with reluctant subordinates
Worrying about losing their identity in order to succeed
We also know, from our own experience and the research, that particular management styles tend to suit women better than others. So we will cover some of those during the programme, including:
A coaching approach to management
Transformational and transactional leadership
Influencing rather than ordering
Learning Outcomes
As a result of attending this programme delegates will:
Understand how gender impacts on management styles
Build their confidence in their management abilities
Explore their personal brand of management
Set reasonable expectations for their own performance and other peoples
Understand how to use authority without being overly pushy
Be able to sell their personal brand in a way that suits their personal style
Recognise both their own success and other people’s in an appropriate way
Develop a management style that suits them and is authentic
Understand how to get out of their own way
